Hansa Meyer Global intensifies its project business in Iran

The lifting of the embargo allowed Hansa Meyer Global Group to intensify its project business in Iran. GLI – Global Logistik Internationale Speditions GmbH, a subsidiary of Hansa Meyer Global, has been already operating in Iran for 25 years. The track record of shipments to Iran amounts to more than 100,000 freight tons per annum and makes GLI one of the largest freight forwarders in Europe.

Moreover, GLI has extensive experience in project business. For example, GLI has been working on the project “South Pars Gas Field Development” since 2008. The project has been divided into various phases. In this, each phase comprises of a cargo volume of approximately 50,000 freight tons, including up to 400 freight tons of heavylift goods. Around 80 percent of the goods originate from Southeast Asia, mainly Korea, and the rest from Europe.

GLI, which is based in Dusseldorf, has 25 employees. Besides the project business, GLI’s range of services includes daily groupage and full truck-load shipments from all over Europe to Iran.

The shipments are mainly conducted through our own central warehouse in Düsseldorf. Each month, up to 150 trucks head for Iran and the Caucasus region. Sea freight is organized via Bandar Abbas, the main port of entry, which is located at a distance of 1,300 km south of Tehran. Furthermore, the goods are shipped by truck or by rail from the capital of Iran to the final destination.

The portfolio of Hansa Meyer Global Group business with Iran also includes the development of comprehensive transport concepts by road, rail, ship, and plane; planning and coordination of shipments of industrial plants, as well as large-volume and heavyweight goods; monitoring of loading procedures, and interface checks, including reporting on the transport routes, container service, daily groupage shipments from all over Europe to Tehran and other customs stations, pre-carriages to the shipping ports, customs clearance, and transit arrangements together with onward carriages from the ports of entry to all domestic stations.
