Hellmann Worldwide Logistics supports tedrive Steering at the Bosphorus

Steering systems specialist tedrive Steering starts new Turkey operation with the support of Hellmann
 
tedrive Steering Systems GmbH is following Ford to Turkey and opening an assembly plant there for the manufacture of hydraulic steel-housing steering systems for the new Ford Transit Custom. Hellmann Worldwide Logistics will bet he logistics partner in this context. The new tedrive Steering production facility is located in the logistics park in Beylikdüzü, on the outskirts of Istanbul. Hellmann is responsible for the transportation of components from Germany to Turkey and also provides the space and assembly personnel for the production of steering systems developed by tedrive.
 
“We are very pleased that our many years of experience in automotive logistics is paying off and that this assembly facility now enables us to manage a significant part of the assembly process in-house,” comments Felix Scherberich, member of the European Board of Hellmann. In the new factory in Istanbul steering systems for the new Ford Transit Custom will be assembled, which enters production by the mid of this year. The components of the steering system are manufactured at tedrive Steering’s headquarters in Wuelfrath (near Wuppertal, Germany) and are assembled in Istanbul for just-in-time delivery.
