Helogistics Holding started container line HELO 1

HELO 1 offers weekly departures for containers and project loads from Budapest via Belgrade to Constanza and return

After a long period of preparations the Helogistics Holding has launched its HELO 1 container line on 13 August. The new Danube liner service offers weekly departures from Budapest via Belgrade to Constanza and return. The first departure ex Constanza is to start on 25 August. The transport time from Budapest to Constanza is eight days. The return service – meaning upstream – takes eleven days.

“This service is a reliable, regular transport option on the Danube-river for containers and projects loads at a maximum weight of 250 tons. The schedule is guaranteed independent of its utilisation rate“, Helogistics Holding states in a press release. The transportations are carried out with container barges that offer a capacity of 144 TEU each. The planned liner services HELO 2 and HELO 3 are currently being investigated and will be introduced in the market in 2011/2012.

Being the parent company of Erste Donau-Dampfschifffahrts GmbH and Mahart Duna Cargo Kft., Helogistics Holding offers solutions fort he transport of raw materials, semi and finished goods on the 3,500 kilometers waterway connecting Rotterdam and the Black Sea. In the dry goods shipping segment they are focusing the following product groups: agricultural goods, raw materials, semi finished goods and containers. As for dry cargo shipping the focus lies on mineral oil products. In addition to the company headquarters in Vienna Helogistics Holding operates also locations in Linz, Regensburg, Bratislava, Budapest, Belgrad, Izmail and Constanza.
