HHLA Container loads 20 combine harvesters for Cuba

Stuffing & Service Center at the HHLA Container Terminal Burchardkai in Hamburg proves its competence with ‘container compatible’ units

20 combine harvesters bound for Cuba have reached HHLA Container Terminal Burchardkai in Hamburg by rail. The Stuffing & Service Center transferred them directly from the embedded rail tracks onto prepared flat racks at the beginning of the week. By deploying transport frames customised to container measurements, the combines can reach Cuba with a container liner service. The comprehensive additional equipment is professionally packed into 20 additional containers.

Cuba is among the destinations that are hard to reach with roro and heavy cargo services. In such cases the HHLA-group’s Stuffing & Service Center frequently assembles ‘container compatible’ units. In 2011 the company stuffed and stripped almost 17,400 boxes, representing a total weight of over 318,000 tonnes.
