Höegh Autoliners operates new regular service to Cuba

Hub in Kingston permits ro-ro shipping company Höegh Autoliners to increase service to the Caribbean

A new hub in Kingston, Jamaica, forms the basis for Höegh Autoliners to expand their regular services to the Caribbean. As of now the Norwegian ro-ro shipping company has a new monthly service from Europe and the Far East to Cuba in the schedule. The European ports of loading are Bremerhaven, Amsterdam, Le Havre and Southampton (for reloading).

Departing from Kingston the following countries are served: Surinam, French Guiana, British Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Venezuela. The previously used Caribbean hub of Höegh Autoliners in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is now called for transhipment via Jacksonville (US). The newly built “Höegh Caribia" is deployed between Kingston and the Caribbean destinations. The vessel has a length of 140 metres, a ramp capacity of 100 tons and can handle a maximum load height of 4.8 metres. It was specially designed for this service and to meet the requirements of the Caribbean ports.

In addition to new and used vehicles, also high/heavy loads like buses, tractors, trucks, cranes, road construction machines or earth moving machines are accepted. Moreover, Höegh Autoliners offers solutions for project loading and non-rolling cargo in the Caribbean.
