Hultafors moves its European logistics centre to DB Schenker in Poland
New distribution centre in Goleniów near Stettin: DB Schenker supports Hultafors with reengineering of their supply chain in Europe
Since recently DB Schenker is providing a wide range of services in Goleniów, close to Stettin, on behalf of the Swedish Hultafors group. The client is a producer of workwear under the Snickers Workwear brand, hand tools under the Hultafors brand, ladders and scaffolding marketed through the Wibe Ladders brand.
Schenker Sp. z o.o. is responsible for acceptance, storage, order picking, goods issue, container import, customs clearance as well as for a wide range of value added services. DB Schenker employees provide the personalisation of work clothing using professional machine embroidery, sewing or ironing first name and surname, logo, or other prints.
„In the course of reengineering our supply chain we have moved the distribution centre from the Netherlands to western Poland. The geographical location of the new site enables us to provide effective services on the markets in Western Europe and the Nordic countries that are of key importance to the Hultafors group and to develop in the countries of East Central Europe,“ says Alexander Wennergren Helm, CEO Hultafors Group AB. They had selected DB Schenker Logistics by tender as a partner covering the following segments: air and ocean freight, customs clearance, warehousing, and international land transportation.
Around 40 employees are operating the new 8,000 m² warehouse in the Prologis Park Szczecin in Goleniów. The facility is located close to national road no. 10 leading into the central part of Poland and the S3 expressway along western border of the country. The seaports in Szczecin and Świnoujście are only few kilometres away.
