IFB to start new rail connections to Southeast Europe

WienCont terminal in Wien Freudenau will take a central role in the production program of intermodal operator IFB

In order to meet the demand for quality and reliable transportation the neutral intermodal operator IFB continuously develops the existing service offering towards a shuttle network. “The production program is going to change gradually in the course of September. Direct Train links connect convenient located terminals where loading units can also be transhipped to other trains. By this, important economic areas and ports throughout Europe can be connected together at defined transit times”, the company announces.

The Terminal of WienCont (Wien Freudenau) will take a central role in future, as it is going to serve as an important hub to/from Southeast Europe. With this step IFB wants to set a quality milestone for its traffic between UK, Benelux, Germany and South-Eastern Europe (Turkey, Greece, and Bulgaria) accordingly. The direct terminal offers to/from Sopron are discontinued in the same period.

IFB is offering the following new intermodal services in the future: Wien Freudenau – Turkey with five roundtrips per week; Duisburg DIT – Wien Freudenau (four roundtrips per week); Ludwigshafen KTL – Wien Freudenau (three roundtrips per week); Antwerp – Duisburg DIT (three roundtrips per week) and Zeebrugge –Duisburg DIT (four roundtrips per week).
