Imperial Reederei group joins activities on the Danube

Danube activities of the Imperial Reederei group to be merged in Multinaut Donaulogistik GmbH effective 1 July 2011:

Imperial Reederei group (Duisburg) is restructuring its activities on the Danube. The enterprise merges the previously autonomously operating companies Multinaut Donaulogistik GmbH and Donaulogistik GmbH into one provider. All previous activities will be continued and developed under the name Multinaut Donaulogistik GmbH. This new company is headquartered in Vienna and has branches in Würzburg and Duisburg.

Peter Jedlicka is the manager of this business and will still be an associate. Hans-Dieter Parchem will be appointed managing director effective 1 July 2011; Klaus Kemmer, authorised signatory, will manage the branch in Würzburg and will assume responsibility of heavy haulage business in the Main/Danube region.

„It’s our target to join synergies and pursue our way with a uniform market appearance“, the Imperial Reederei group announces in a press release. Transport volume has doubled in the past two years, which is due to the two previous Danube companies Multinaut Donaulogistik GmbH and Donaulogistik GmbH.

After the merger Multinaut Donaulogistik GmbH will employ 30 privately-owned inland waterway craft working under contract for them and has access on demand to more cargo hold on vessels of the Imperial Reederei group. “This way we can ideally cover and develop our position in transit traffic Rhine/Main/Danube“, the company states in a press release. A major issue will be expansion of the activities in the lower Danube region and in Danube-sea traffic from the Black Sea to the CIS, Turkey and Mediterranean.
