Container operator easyrail.at applied for insolvency

After ceasing the operation of block trains as per February 22, 2009, the container operator easyrail.at (Vienna) reported more bad news at the end of last week. In a release the enterprise informed its customers and suppliers about their decision to apply for insolvency at the Handelsgericht Wien (commercial court Vienna) after having talked to their tax advisor and their lawyer. The Managing Directors Manfred Dvoracek and Günter Watzl are deeply regretting this step.

At the beginning of this year easyrail.at started operating container block trains from Vienna via Enns to Hamburg/Bremerhaven and back. Because of the economic crisis the utilisation capacity of the transport services was not satisfying. Moreover the fierce competition of other companies worried the enterprise.
