Insolvency of Karl Gasperlmayr Internationale Transporte GmbH

Large amounts of subsequent payments of turnover tax from earlier periods make remediation of the mineral oil carrier Gasperlmayr impossible

As of November 14 the bankruptcy proceedings were opened on the assets and liabilities of the specialist for the transport of mineral oil, based in Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting, Upper Austria. The insolvency affects 26 employees. According to the company liabilities amount to EUR 14.46 million, while free assets amount to EUR 564,000.

Subsequent payments of turnover tax from earlier periods at the amount of EUR 12.56 million are accounting for the lion’s share of the debts of EUR 14.46 million. The main reason had been an „audit of the sales tax in 2010 and 2011 and a review on the VAT 2012“ carried out by the tax office Grieskirchen-Wels on suspicion of tax evasion. The required EUR 2.5 million as backup could not paid with EUR 3.6 million in annual sales. After attempts for solutions failed and decisions from November 5, 2013 stipulated that the total turnover tax of the business with suppliers was taken into account, remediation is not possible because of high indebtedness.
