Inter Ferry Boats expands to Southeastern Europe

Specialist for intermodal transport Inter Ferry Boats establishes its own network in Southeastern Europe

 

Following the decicision to liquidate Intercontainer-Interfrigo, cargo flows are reorganised in the European market of intermodal transport. Inter Ferry Boats (IFB) with its headquarters in Antwerp announced the expansion of their network into Southeastern Europe. They were going to establish a regular transport service under the brand name IFB East from Germany and Austria via Sopron to Athens and Halkali (Istanbul) with the support of former employees of ICF, the paper reads. The changes will become effective in the year 2011.

Inter Ferry Boats as a business division of SNCB Logistics offers transport solutions for container consignments on the railway from Antwerp, Zeebrugge and Rotterdam to the European hinterland and back. In continental transport railway services from Belgium to Spain, France, Italy and Romania are benchmarks in their portfolio.
