InterLogistik launches regular block train service

Expanded business activities of InterLogistik Transport- u. Speditionsgesellschaft m.b.H. (Vienna)

The service portfolio of the InterLogistik transport and forwarding company (a limited liability company based in Vienna) is about to be expanded. In cooperation with reputable enterprises from the sector of rail transport/rail logistics a block train system for container traffic between the seaports in northern Germany (Hamburg, Bremerhaven) and Vienna was developed. Managing Director Gerald Hofmann recommends the product “Interlogistik Rail Solution“ to the Österreichische Verkehrszeitung (Austrian Transport Magazine) as a neutral and independent alternative to existing systems. This message is addressed to overseas forwarding companies and shipping companies.

The new block train service is to start on 18 January 2010. In the initial stage two rotations per week are on the schedule. As of March a third one is planned. The train is formed in Hamburg Unterelbe. Transit time to Vienna – Freudenau will be 17.5 hours. Mr. Hofmann: “Apart from our new train service we will continue to offer trucking services for supply and delivery. Bookings, price information and transport statuses might be placed or requested at the online portal of InterLogistik shortly. Customers with small volumes may benefit from a special bonus system, if they are regularly using the offer.”

Since its establishment in 1991 InterLogistik offers transport services in maritime container hinterland traffic. Also full and part load transportations to eastern Europe, with a focus on Russia, and area distribution in Austria are included in the portfolio. The operations are managed by 18 employees at the offices in Vienna, Budapest and Moscow.
