New Kuehne + Nagel logistics platform in greater Lyon

Systematic expansion of land transport activities of the Kuehne + Nagel group in France

The land transport network of the Kuehne + Nagel group in France was recently extended by another logistics platform. In Chaponnay, in the southeast of Lyon, a new plant has started operating. The facility designed for quick and secure freight handling serves as a throughput platform for the different business activities within national and European general cargo transport. Therefore a total area of 6,400 m² with 56 ramps, a 220 metres long circular sub-floor conveyor chain, video surveillance and modern labelling systems are available. The site is linked to all French regions by 33 overnight shuttle services.

Since Kuehne + Nagel took over the French groupage specialist Alloin effective 1 January  2009, it has continually extended and modernised its road logistics capacities in France. These efforts result in steadily increasing volumes. In the current year some 5 million domestic and international shipments are handled at more than 50 platforms in France.
