“Green goes Green“ with Jan De Rijk Logistics

Transport logistics group Jan De Rijk Logistics enforces commitment  in intermodal traffic from the Benelux region to Italy

The commitment of Jan De Rijk Logistics in intermodal traffic on the route between the Netherlands and Italy has become subject to expansion. With immediate effect and following the "Green goes Green" principle, the transport company forwards 10 containers with plants and flowers to southern Europe each week. The customer is a syndicate made up of several Dutch plant exporters.

With this new contract the number of consignments shipped to Italy by rail each week increases to 110 units. With this measure, Jan De Rijk makes up for the consequences of the restrictions for international truck transports and the effects of the stricter regulations regarding driving hours. In a press release the company management declared their interest in enforcing intermodal transports.

As a private enterprise based in Roosendaal (NL), Jan De Rijk Logistics offers services in the areas transport, distribution, retail distribution and warehousing. More than 1.000 people are employed in 25 locations in 15 European countries. The strongly diversified fleet comprises about 700 units.
