TÜV certifies environmental management system of DPD Austria parcel service as highly functional:

The environmental consciousness of the DPD Austria parcel service has gained a facet. The sustainability activities of the enterprise have just been certified according to the international environmental standard ISO 14001. TÜV confirms the high functionality of the environmental management system. Austria’s leading private parcel service has been made efforts to increase sustainability since a while. The current ISO 14001 certification is valid for a period of three years.

“DPD has anchored responsible environmental policy through a charter in the enterprise“, says Rainer Schwarz, Managing Director DPD Austria. “The certification according to ISO 14001 confirms our effort and self-commitment for the future.“ DPD’s environmental management system is based on measurable environmental targets covering subjects such as reducing energy consumption, emissions, waste and water consumption. As for road traffic the use of low-emission vehicles has priority. Effective route planning and fuel-saving driving mode also help avoiding CO2-emissions.

The certified environmental management system covers DPD in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg. The certification followed a process covering several months and involving numerous audits at DPD branches by TÜV. DPD measures continuously the success of the measures it implements for the purpose of achieving environmental targets. The documentation and measurement of this key data, together with the consistent implementation of the company’s environmental policy, are monitored by TÜV at regular intervals.
