60 years Gerhard Oswald – 30 years with TFG Transfracht

TFG-Transfracht Managing Director Gerhard Oswald celebrates his 60th birthday on 1 February 2012:

Shortly following his 30-years jubilee within the company in 2011, Gerhard Oswald, Managing Director TFG Transfracht, has another reason to celebrate. On 1 February 2012 the expert of intermodal transport celebrates his 60th birthday.

Since he joined the company in 1981 Gerhard Oswald worked in various positions with TFG: In 1990, he was granted procuration; in 1995 he took over the management of seaport hinterland traffic and thus the responsibility for product development and the development and expansion of the international network (including transport to in Austria and Switzerland, opening its own offices in Antwerp and Rotterdam). In 1996 he contributed to the implementation of the "Take Three” project: the use of river shipping as an additional mode of transport on the Rhine and later on the Elbe river.

Gerhard Oswald was also responsible for designing and developing the "AlbatrosExpress", TFG’s train system and the TFG TOPICS price system in 1998. On 1 June 2007 he was appointed Director of Sales/Marketing. Since 2009 he was also in charge of the segments purchase of services and operations. Gerhard Oswald is married and has one son.

TFG International Society for combined freight mbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of DB Mobility Logistics AG and HHLA Intermodal GmbH is the market leader in seaport hinterland transport of the German seaports. The company transports containers for shipping companies and carriers of the German seaports directly to the final recipient in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as from original shipper to German seaports. TFG annually shifts some 600,000 truck trips from road to rail, thus saving approximately 360,000 tons of CO2 emissions compared to transport by truck.
