60 years of transport and logistics competence with the AWT Group
Czech transport and logistics group AWT is celebrating its 60-years jubilee these days
These days the AWT Group is looking back on 60 years of activity in the transport and logistics industry. The company has been acting under its current firm name for two years now. It was formed by the merger of Advanced World Transport and AWT Cechofracht. These two companies have their origins in the railway company OKD Doprava and the forwarding company Cechofracht, which were both established in 1952.
With 2,500 employees at locations in eight European countries and annual turnover of CZK 10 billion the AWT Group counts among the leading providers of transport and logistics services in Central and Eastern Europe. The private railway Advanced World Transporte a. s. generated a transport performance of 1.017 billion tonne kilometres in 2011, using 160 own locomotives and about 6,000 cargo rail cars. AWT Cechofracht acts as the competence centre for logistics and forwarding services.
