Continuously growing business with Japan in the Port of Koper

“Luka Koper Day“ in Tokyo and Osaka presented strengths of the Slovenian seaport to major Japanese shippers and forwarders
 
At a “Luka Koper Day“ in Tokyo and Osaka the warehousing, throughput, transport and service operators of the Slovenian seaport met representatives of leading Japanese overseas experts and sea freight forwarders last week. On this occasion the European hosts presented the new weekly container line from Tokyo and Osaka to Koper and back. The management of Luka Koper expects the service to further increase transport volumes.
 
Japanese enterprises use the Port of Koper to ship RoRo cargo and containers to destinations in Central and Eastern Europe and back. The range of goods is dominated by automotive, electronics and liquids. Last year the volume totalled 120,000 tonnes. The lion’s share was the 8,000 TEU container traffic. as for transport relations exportations from Central and Eastern Europe via Koper to Japan were dominating.
