InterRail Group reinforces presence in Central Asia

Official delegation of InterRail Group in Uzbekistan

The InterRail Group based in St. Gallen in Switzerland reinforces its market appearance in Central Asia. An official delegation has been set up in Uzbekistan recently. Dilshod Suleymanov, who manages the representative office in the capital Tashkent, will also assume the tasks of the General Representative of InterRail in Central Asia.

“This region is far from being new ground to InterRail. Regarding rail traffic from, to and through Central Asia we have been mainly relying on local affiliates of the TransInvest Group so far. We are now going to establish our own presence step-by-step“, he announces. Uzbekistan is, according to Mr. Suleymanov, a quite interesting location for InterRail, because it serves as a central traffic junction of the whole region and rail transport plays an outstanding role in foreign trade of the country.

InterRail has been present for some years in Asia through the Tarabari Rail Iran venture. Based on a special contract with the Iranian railway RAI, the company offers according to its own account interesting conditions for transportations to and from Tajikistan. Since last year the group has also a representative office in the Chinese capital Beijing.
