PTB Perse International Forwarding Company defies sanctions and improves rail facilities in the port of Bandar Abbas

PTB Perse International Forwarding Company looks back on 50 years of company history. The private group of companies, which is linked to the Swiss TransInvest Group, has their headquarters in Tehran and employs about 600 people in 15 locations. The company is said to te one of the leading logistics service providers in the country.  "In spite of the large number of international forwarding companies that are established in Tehran each year, PTB is the market leader with regard to the development of a modern Iranian transport business", says Parviz Golabi, managing director and member of the administrative board of the group.

PTB is the clear market leader regarding transit transports through the country. "Of course the sanctions have caused many problems, especially in the handling of international business. Transit times have increased as a consequence", Golabi says. "Nevertheless we have seen an increase in import volume of containers via the port of Shahid Rejaee of Bandar Abbas of about 10 per cent this year compared to the previous year’s number. There are also ongoing investments from the private sector in this port", he points out.

In order to develop new possibilities for their own group and other transport companies, PTB has become active in new projects whose focus is on the improvement of rail facilities in the Port of Bandar Abbas. One of the projects in planing or already under way are their own railway container terminal and rail facilities for the handling of bulk cargo.

PTB comprises the areas transport & logistics, terminal operations, truck transports, port handling and tour & travel. In Bandar Abbas the group operates more than 500.000 m2 of terminal space, among them a cotton terminal with their own siding (100.000 m2), a container terminal (100.000 m2) as well as a terminal for stowing operation of stones (30.000 m²). The group also has their own logistics terminal in Tehran (15.000 m2) as well as two warehouses in the special economic area Payam Airport close to Tehran which is used to cleared goods respectively for bonded goods.
