Jacobson Companies acquires Hong Kong-based CGL

JHCI Holdings, parent of the Jacobson Companies, has acquired Chimerica Global Logistics (CGL), a logistics services company headquartered in Hong Kong with subsidiary operations in the People’s Republic of China.

The acquisition is another step in the expansion of Jacobson’s international logistics capabilities.

Earlier this month, Jacobson announced the formation of its new international operations business entity, Jacobson Global Logistics (JGL). CGL will be fully integrated into JGL, offering seamless end-to end-logistics services in Hong Kong and China.

JGL will provide a full range of international logistics services to and from the US and within Asia, including freight forwarding (ocean and air), PO management, buyer’s consolidation, origin value-added services, bonded warehousing, and deconsolidation, in addition to international multi-modal transportation services.

The CGL team has provided logistics services in China since 1999, and has a well-established infrastructure in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenzhen, as well as major distribution hubs and agent offices in the US and Australia.

CGL specialises in designing and operating custom tailored logistics services, including ocean- and airfreight services, origin value-added services for retailers, buyer’s consolidation, vendor managed inventory (VMI), warehousing and many other supply chain related services.
