JF Hillebrand consolidates top position in Northern Europe

Swedish beverages logistician Lagena Distribution AB to be integrated into JF Hillebrand’s network

Taking over Lagena Distribution AB from Stockholm, the JF Hillebrand group from Mainz enhances its range of warehousing and distribution logistics services. The new member within the worldwide network helps the buyer, who is rooted in the international beverages logistics business, to consolidate its dominating position in Sweden as well as in the Nordic and Baltic countires, that are handled as markets with a high growth potential.

Since its establishment in 1994 Lagena Distribution has evolved as the subsidiary of the Swedish alcohol retail monopoly Systembolaget AB to the leading logistics service provider for alcoholic beverages in the Scandinavian country. The enterprise has 164 employees who handle an annual volume of 75 million bottles. National distribution is based on a network of 14 warehouses and distribution points with 26,000 sq. m. storage space.

Kevin Brock, CFO of the JF Hillebrand group, referred to the latest acquisition as a tactically important element for their growth in the Nordic countries. Lagena will keep its current brand and management team, and continue to focus on warehousing and distribution of alcoholic beverages in Sweden. JF Hillebrand Sverige AB concentrates on the freight forwarding business.
