JF Hillebrand takes over Bora Shipping (Sofia)
| Acquisition of the Bulgarian beverages specialist Bora Shipping consolidates position of the JF Hillebrand group in Eastern Europe The JF Hillebrand group (Mainz) consolidates its global network by taking over Bora Shipping Ltd. based in Sofia (Bulgaria). Bora Shipping was established in 1998 by Boris Christov and is – just like JF Hillebrand – a specialised service provider for the wine, beer and spirits industry as well as for the bulk segment. Both enterprises have been cooperating for several years. The know how of the teams of Bora Shipping consolidates the market position of JF Hillebrand in Eastern Europe. The companies will continue their operations under the name Bora Shipping until the final firm is adjusted to the group’s standard. Boris Christov, who has 40 years of experience in the forwarding branch, will fill the position as the General Manager in charge of Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. The JF Hillebrand group has evolved into the market leader in the field of international beverages logistics. The global network comprises around 1,460 employees at 46 locations. The service portfolio covers complete solutions for the fields transport, warehouse and information management of wines, beers and spirits. The group’s turnover amounted to EUR 567 million in 2009.
