Linzer Lokalbahn AG operating on the line from Linz via Eferding to Waizenkirchen for 100 years
 
The Upper Austrian local railway Linzer Lokalbahn (LILO) has been linking places and persons for 100 years. From 12 January 1911 the local railway from Linz via Eferding to Waizenkirchen has had a concession for railway operation. The operation on the route from Linz to Eferding started in January 1912; the segment between Eferding and Waizenkirchen followed in December 1912. Earlier, in December 1908 the local railway Neumarkt-Waizenkirchen-Peuerbach has started operating. This autonomously operated part of the route was integrated into the LILO operations in 1998.
 
Linzer Lokalbahn AG is a stock company according to Austrian law. The city of Linz is holding 54.1 per cent of the shares. Another major shareholder with 35.3 per cent is Stern & Hafferl Verkehrsgesellschaft m.b.H. headquartered in Gmunden. Local municipalities are holding 7 per cent of the share capital. The private railway provides transport services for pupils and commuters as well as cargo transport.
