KARGOSISTEM GREETS DHL CAPACITY BOOST

DHL Aviation has boosted its open-market capacity from Turkey by over 160%, following the replacement of its 5 weekly B757 freighters with 6 x weekly A300 freighters.

The airline now offers a total allocation of 520,000 kgs of maindeck space per month from Istanbul to its European hub in Brussels, linking to 136 destinations worldwide on its own services. Interline agreements with American Airlines, Air Canada and Continental Airlines add a further 94 destinations.

DHL Aviation is represented in Turkey by its GSSA of 11 years, Kargosistem A.S., whose Managing Director Demir Ozerman says: “This additional freighter capacity, coupled with network expansion and improved routings, gives DHL Aviation much greater potential in this market. It also significantly improves the scope of services we can offer to the Turkish airfreight community, and boosts our total portfolio of destinations to almost 300.”

In order to fully serve its large and active agent customer base in Turkey, Kargosistem arranges regular ad hoc freighter charters to Europe, Russia and the USA using aircraft ranging in size from AN26 up to B747. It also supervises inbound charters from China.

In addition to representing DHL Aviation, Kargosistem is also the official GSSA for Kenya Airways, Coyne Airways and Aerosurlog (offline) in Turkey. Kargosistem is the exclusive Turkish member of the EGSAC network of independent GSSAs, which has 29 members at over 60 bases in over 30 countries.
