Kombiverkehr KG runs new direct train service to Budapest

Kombiverkehr KG launches more than 30 new train services within Germany and to and from France, Poland and Hungary in the first quarter of 2013

Frankfurt-based Kombiverkehr KG is increasing the frequency in traffic with Hungary. As of now the company operates a direct train service between Neuss and Budapest. Previously loading units had to be transferred to another train in Wels or Vienna. The lack of a need to transfer makes the A-C journey time easily achievable and shortens the total journey time. "We have been able to move the closing time for acceptance in Hungary back by four hours to 21:30", said Robert Breuhahn, managing director of the CT operator. “Consignments are available for collection in Budapest‘s Bilk terminal two and a half hours earlier than before. These times are ideal for those who need same-day collections or deliveries across the country," he added.

The revised service for Hungary is part of a product campaign to add an extra 32 train departures a week to the Kombiverkehr network. On the routes between Duisburg-Ruhrort Hafen and Köln-Eifeltor and the French city of Lyon the number of departure days per week in each direction rise from three to five, from 4 February. The number of departures between Duisburg and the Polish city of Poznan increase by the same amount. In addition, a new train concept is launched between the Rhein-Ruhr and Hamburg-Lübeck industrial regions with connections to northern Europe.
