Kuehne + Nagel starts Eastern Europe hub in Vienna

Vienna’s junction for the Kuehne+ Nagel group’s groupage transport offers over 300 weekly departures

Kuehne + Nagel has opened a central hub in Vienna for groupage overland operations to and from Eastern Europe. The hub is another important step in Kuehne + Nagel’s strategy to continuously expand its European road freight network.

The new hub in Vienna will connect all major countries of Eastern Europe via direct lines and with over 300 weekly departures. The platform enables Kuehne+ Nagel to achieve better capacity utilication, reduce transit times and an increase lanes with daily departures within Europe. “Fixed transportation times and scheduled departures guarantee customers a transparent and continuous cargo flow”, the group states in a press release.

“The hub in Vienna complements our strategy to establish a highly efficient groupage network and to offer our customers reliable leadtimes across our region and all of Europe. Being the gateway to the western and eastern industry centres, Vienna has been the obvious choice for the best suited location,” states Jörg Herwig, Senior Vice President Road & Rail Eastern Europe.
