Kühne + Nagel uses HP Utility Sourcing Services

HP supports Kühne + Nagel with IT-infrastructure solutions

The logistics service provider Kühne + Nagel signed an agreement with HP about the operation of large parts of the globally used IT-infrastructure. The contract will be valid for 5 years. The order volume amounts to several million US-dollar.

In the future Kühne + Nagel will receive from a HP-data centre as HP USS service capacity for Windows and Linux, memory capacity and the appropriate backup. The systems are running in a shared-services-area – which means several clients are sharing the physical infrastructure. Virtualisation technology allows an efficient utilisation of hardware resources. Thus Kühne + Nagel can provide IT-services for current operations and projects quicker and use them for other applications after the project is finished.

“HP Utility Sourcing Services save costs and allows us to adjust IT-capacities to our current requirements. Thus we avoid useless capital commitment for redundant resources and we are able to respond quickly and flexible to project demands“, said Martin Kolbe, CIO of Kühne + Nagel.
