Wincanton wins large-scale order of Lafarge

 
Lafarge concludes 5 year contract with Wincanton Group 

The transport and logistics service provider Wincanton concluded a logistics contract with Lafarge Plasterboard. In the next five years Wincanton will operate the UK national transport for the manufacturer of construction materials. The new contract is based on the collaboration of Wincanton and Lafarge in Germany and the previous contract with the roofing division of Lafarge in Great Britain. The worth of the whole contract amounts to around EUR 54 million.

Wincanton profits particularly in Great Britain from modifications in the construction segment, as enterprises are more and more outsourcing services into the scope of supply chain. The company’s transport services and material supply are reducing costs for customers significantly and supports the concentration on the core business.

Wincanton is one of Europe’s leading providers of transport and logistics services. About 30,000 employees are working at 400 locations; they generated an annual turnover of EUR 2.8 billion lately.
