Kühne+Nagel acquires J. Martens Holding
Kühne+Nagel Group announced another company acquisition. By entering into an agreement to take over J. Martens Holding AS, headquartered in Bergen, Norway, the group enhances its activities within the energy industry. The acquired company is a leading provider of transport and logistics services for enterprises from the oil and gas industry. J. Martens had been established 125 years ago and operates locations in Great Britain, the Netherlands and Singapore. With its 260 employees, the company achieved a turnover of CHF 250 million last year. The integration of the company into the KN Group is subject to the approval of relevant authorities. In a press release Peter Ulber, Member of the Executive Board of Kühne+Nagel International AG charged with Sea & Air Logistics, considered J. Martens Holding as a significant reinforcement of the group’s capabilities. According to him the acquisition ideally fits into Kühne+Nagel’s strategy to globally expand services for customers, which require a high level of industry-specific know how and experience.
