MSC increases rates again

MSC reactivates THC for Europe-Far East services

As a response to increasing demand for shipping capacity the MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company raised rates. On the NWC-Mexico and NWC-Canada routes charges for 20’-containers will rose by USD 160, and for 40’-containers by USD 200. The same is valid for container shipments from NWC and the Adriatic Sea to the Far East. On the routes to NWC-India/Pakistan and Adriatic Sea-India/Pakistan transport prices for 20’-containers will be increased by USD 150 and by USD 300 for 40’-boxes.

Moreover, the company reactivates THC for Asia-traffics in the loading ports. MSC announced the introduction of an “Emergency Rate Restoration” (ERR) for westbound routes to the Far East. ERR amounts to USD 300 for 20’-containers and USD 600 for 40’-units. The new charges and fees will become valid as per April 1, 2009.
