ChemFreight strengthens position as dangerous goods logistician

Acquisition of Logwin’s activities makes ChemFreight the integrated dangerous goods logistician at location in Krems

ChemFreight Transport, Logistik & Waggonvermietung GmbH has successfully completed the takeover of the Logwin Solutions Austria-location in Krems. After the competition authority has inspected and approved the transaction, the acquisition was handled according to plan last week.

The takeover of the divisions of Logwin marked the development of the tight networking and the longstanding business relation of ChemFreight and their customers at the chemical site in Krems. They advanced to an integrated dangerous goods logistician at the location that offers the complete range of logistics services comprising train, truck, vessel transport, warehousing and value added services (customs, waste management) from one source, the enterprise announces in a press release. According to the management the location is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offers ideal conditions for the planned business expansion.

ChemFreight forwards about 7 million tons of products of the mineral oil, gas, chemical and fertilizer industry per year. The shareholders are the RCA subsidiary Express-Interfracht and Ermewa Schweiz, each holding 50 per cent. In 2008 the enterprise had 38 employees and generated a turnover of EUR 131 million.
