UPS started constructing of Intra-Asia Hub

 
Intra-Asia Air Hub of UPS in Shenzhen to start operating by 2010

At an 89,000 sq. m. area at the Shenzhen International Airport the construction works for the new Intra-Asia Air Hub of UPS started recently. The enterprise is investing USD 180 million into the construction of the new hub, which will replace the gateway at the former Clark Air Base on the Philippines by 2010.

The Management of UPS expects the Intra-Asia Air Hub in Shenzhen to effect shorter transit times for consignments within Asia. During the initial stage about 400 employees will handle up to 18,000 consignments per hour. On demand the sorting capacity might be doubled to 36,000 pieces per hour.
