Launch of x-trans.eu to facilitate data transfer for heavy haulage

Starting signal for initial stage of data portal for special transport between Bavaria and Upper Austria

At the start of this week the starting signal was given for x-trans.eu, a central portal for application and authorisation of border-crossing special transportations. The online portal will be available for transportations between the Federal State Upper Austria and the Free State Bavaria in the initial stage, and is planned to be expanded to more countries at a later date. The project is a contribution to the e-Government Action Plan 2011-2015 of the European Union. The experience from the joint pilot run of x-trans.eu shall be used for the development of further innovative e-Government solutions.

Technical implementation of the system is based on a connection of the national e-Government systems VEMAGS and SOTRA. The project partners Software AG and ]init[ AG für digitale Kommunikation (for digital communication) have technically implemented the solution during the past months. The parties involved expect the system to cut costs of bureaucracy and work. So far it has been necessary to apply for authorisations of heavy haulage on the road in all countries they were passing. “x-trans.eu relieves administration and gives more planning security to logisticians", Dirk Stocksmeier, CEO of ]init[ AG, says emphasises on the advantages of the system.
