Lehnkering takes over special business from Nijhof-Wassink

German subsidiary of the transport logistics group Nijhof-Wassink disposes of liquid bulk business

Effective of 1 November this year, Lehnkering GmbH (Duisburg) is taking over the liquid bulk business for rubber-lined equipment from Nijhof-Wassink in Hörstel (Münsterland, North Rhine-Westphalia). This division of the German subsidiary of the Dutch provider of transport logistics services is being integrated into the Lehnkering Chemical Transport division, a part of the Road Logistics & Services division.

On October 27th, Cees van Gent, CEO of Lehnkering GmbH, and Hans van den Bosch, Managing Director of Lehnkering Chemical Transport GmbH, signed an asset deal with Frans Schuitemaker, Managing Director of Nijhof-Wassink, in Hörstel. The logistician is completely taking over Nijhof-Wassink’s special business in liquid bulk – including the fleet, employees and customer contracts.

The transport equipment, which comprises trucks and trailers with rubber linings specially designed to carry corrosive products, will remain stationed in Hörstel. Nijhof-Wassink will continue to work in their other bulk transport segments at this business location and will lease the required fleet parking to Lehnkering.

In the future Nijhof-Wassink will, to a greater deal, focus their business on dry bulk goods and automotive, and expand in both market segments, as Managing Director Frans Schuitemaker announces. Lehnkering has the necessary expertise to expand the special liquid bulk activities according to his estimation.
