Logistics by Felbermayr for container terminal in Wels

Steel components for the new portal crane at the container terminal Wels came with Felbermayr from Slovakia to Austria:

The Felbermayr group carried out about twenty transportations for the construction of another portal crane at the container terminal Wels from July to the end of August. The company was also charged with assembly of elements weighing up to 25 tons. A six-axis mobile crane with maximum load of 350 tons and a 70 metres telescopic jib supported the assembly staff.

At the ÖBB terminal Wels an additional portal crane shall start operating at the end of September. Felbermayr has carried out about 20 transportations therefore. „The four main beams were the heaviest parts. Weighing about 24 tons the over 25 metres long steel giants were not easy to be transported from Slovakia to Wels in Upper Austria“, says Roland Füreder, who coordinated these transportations. The “smaller“ parts, weighing less than 20 tons per piece, were delivered from the locations of the Hans Künz company in Vorarlberg and Styria.

More than 100,000 truck loads per year are moved from road to rail at the container terminal Wels of Rail Cargo Austria AG (RCA). The start of operation of the new portal crane will increase this capacity considerably.
