Logwin sells companies in Southeast Europe to Quehenberger Logistics

Milestone in the east: Quehenberger Logistics condenses its transnational groupage network with 13 new sites of the Logwin AG

Quehenberger Logistics has taken over five national companies of Logwin AG (Grevenmacher). The Salzburg-based company is to integrate the operations of the Luxembourg-based group into their organisation in Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia, together with about 200 employees.

For Quehenberger CEO Christian Fürstaller the takeover is a further milestone, “We still see great opportunities in the east and are consistently improving our market position there.”

Thirteen new branches condense the Quehenberger Logistics network into a total of 79 sites. With an additional 36,400 m² of warehouse space, Quehenberger thus manages over 190,000 m² of warehouse and cross dock areas.

With seven sites in Croatia, Quehenberger is hugely expanding its position in the new EU state. Market entry took place there last year. With sites in Stip and Skopje, the emergent market of Macedonia is newly added. The new sites in Belgrade (Serbia), Sofia (Bulgaria), Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca (Romania) strengthen the relevant Quehenberger national organisations.

Quehenberger Logistics based in Strasswalchen near Salzburg is a medium-sized owner-managed company providing transport management, network and contract logistics services in Central and Eastern Europe. At present, the company employs 2,140 people at 79 locations in 17 countries.
