Loxx Group: Third expansion of its logistics centre in Gelsenkirchen

Expansion of the Loxx logistics centre in Gelsenkirchen adds logistics space, more offices and creates up to 50 new jobs

On  February 17, 2014 the ground-breaking ceremony will take place for the further expansion of the Loxx logistics center in Gelsenkirchen. This is already the third expansion since the company’s move from Essen to this site in the year 2000.

A 7,000 m² hall for fulfillment services will be added to the existing office and warehouse space of the logistics center. In addition a further 850 m² of office space will be set up, of which 510 m² will be developed immediately and a further 340 m² will initially remain as a reserve. The new logistics hall meets energy requirements at the highest level.

The construction of the additional buldings shall be completed by the end of September. The expansion of the logistics center will create up to 50 new jobs in the medium term. Loxx employs currently around 260 people in Gelsenkirchen.

Because of to the expansion measures the existing space of some 10,000 m² will be entirely available for the cross-docking (cargo handling) in the future. The number of loading bays will be increased from the current 66 to 93.
