LUG takes over freight handling for IAG Cargo in Germany

IAG Cargo becomes new customer of LUG; Increase of annual freight volume in Frankfurt by 68,000 tonnes an by 850 tonnes in Munich

 
LUG aircargo handling, the oldest freight handling company at the Frankfurt/Main airport, has recently expanded its customer portfolio. The company has won the tender of International Airlines Group Cargo for freight handling at Germany’s two leading freight hubs Munich and Frankfurt, starting this autumn together with the partner airlines Iberia and British Airways.
 
The new customer will increase the annual freight volume around 68,000 tonnes and 850 tonnes in Frankfurt and Munich, respectively. LUG aircargo handling starts handling Iberia flights on September 1 and British Airways flights one month later.

Established in 2011 IAG counts among the world’s biggest airline groups with respect to aircraft fleet, passenger figures and freight volume. British Airways World Cargo and Iberia offer together about 57 weekly flights to Frankfurt and 40 weekly flights to Munich. British Airways World Cargo (BAWC) has been a LUG customer until three years ago.
