Marco Meßner of Lagermax is the 1st “Young Forwarder of the Year“

Austrian logistics and forwarding association Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik awards Marco Meßner for his paper on “Exchange system for Euro pallets“:

Marco Meßner (19) born in Salzburg, is the first “Young Forwarder of the Year“. With his project on the exchange system for Euro pallets he occupied the first place in this competition that the Austrian logistics and forwarding association Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik (Vienna) organised for the first time. He won a journey to New York.

Price N° 2 was awarded to Anita Edlinger, 20, forwarding merchant at DB Schenker in Salzburg. She dedicated her project to “gas filling stations at forwarding companies“. Mario Pallisch (22) from Panalpina, and Pia Biesiaga (22) from Lagermax, received recognition prices for their projects “RFID in container traffic“ and “STReeTLOG (street logistics)“, respectively.

To promote Austria’s young logisticians, the Austrian logistics and forwarding association Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik organised the competition to award the “Young Forwarder of the Year“ for the first time this year. Male and female forwarding employees from all over Austria, born 1986 or later, were invited to file their ideas about “sustainable ecological and/or economic solutions for customers and the industry“.

The Austrian forwarding and logistics industry employs about 16,000 persons; 4,000 of them are younger than 25 years. Their education ranges from apprenticeships for forwarding merchants to degrees from universities of applied sciences and universities.
