Messina Line to serve Turkey

Italian ConRo shipping company Messina Line expands its routes and liner services:

 

Ignazio Messina & C. S.p.A. with its headquarters in Geneve is expanding its route network and liner services. In a press release the enterprise informs about its additional services from and to France, Spain and India as well as the introduction of Turkey into the schedule.

The happening in Libya is being observed carefully. The service to the north African country is stopped for the time being.

The service to the eastern Mediterranean Sea, in addition to the traditionally served ports of Alexandria and Beirut, will be expanded to Mersin (Turkey). Moreover Marseille, in addition to Geneva and Naples, will be called directly. Their own Con/Ro unit Jolly Oro and the chartered Ro/Ro vessel Thebeland shortens the frequency of departures to 9 days.

For the Mediterranean Sea – Red Sea – Arabian Gulf – India – service two full container vessels, each providing a capacity of 2,470 TEU were chartered and integrated into the service in addition to their own Con/Ro vessels Jolly Arancione and Jolly Nero. This increases the frequency of departures to 12 days, with a capacity of 2,500 loading metres for rolling stock every 24 days. Castellon in Spain as well as Cochin and Tuticorin in India are the new stations in the schedule.
