More environmental commitment with Schachinger Logistik

Schachinger Logistik Holding changed all its Austrian locations to eco-power

Schachinger Logistik Holding (Hörsching) reinforces its environmental commitment. Since 1 October all Austrian locations changed to eco-power. This is power from renewable energy sources like water, wind and sun, which is hence 100 per cent clean and a clear rejection of oil and nuclear power“, elaborates Max Schachinger jun., who promoted this step towards ecological sustainability as division manager and responsible for the company development.

The measures to protect the environment previously taken by Schachinger Logistik – ranging from the selection of locations with rail sidings to energy-efficient buildings, plant oil from regional production, eco-trainings, introduction of energy efficiency measures into the performance evaluation, state-of-the-art truck fleet and including life cycle costs including recycling of buildings – have also shown their effects economically. “Apart from saving CO2, our initiatives enable us to work more economically and help our customers to make up for future CO2 taxes and certificates“, explains Schachinger.

Schachinger Logistik Holding has around 500 employees at 15 locations in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia. The company owns around 100 trailer trucks and provides about 200,000 sq. m. warehousing area. Last year they generated a turnover of EUR 160 million.
