Hellmann Worldwide Logistics posts jump in turnover for the year 2010

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics registered a significant increase in handled freight volumes during 2010:

Following the business period 2009, marked by the global economic crisis, the forwarding group Hellmann Worldwide Logistics (Osnabrück) registered an uptrend in 2010 again. They handled 34.7 per cent more air freight than in the same period of the previous year; ocean freight – in TEU – improved by 20.2 per cent. Overland tonnage grew 19.2 per cent, as the management states.

Annual turnover of the private group rose 31.4 per cent to EUR 2.65 billion in the reporting period. This resulted mainly from the air freight sector, which was 55.5 per cent up, followed by ocean freight, which was up 33.2 per cent and overland transport, up 12.3 per cent. Staff grew 6.7 per cent to 9,228 employees around the globe.
