More fuel stations for bio-methane
CNG Fuels has started work on two public access bio-methane compressed natural gas refuelling stations.
The sites at Warrington and Birmingham are part of a plan to open five Bio-CNG sites this year to cater for growing demand from HGV operations.
It currently has sites at Leyland and Crewe and says the additional sites represent a 500 per cent increase in capacity allowing up to 3,000 HGVs a day to refuel.
Philip Fjeld, CEO of CNG Fuels, said: “Renewable and sustainable bio methane allows companies to achieve deep cuts to greenhouse gas emissions, cut pollution and save money – no wonder demand is soaring. Our customers are already planning to order hundreds of new bio methane fuelled trucks in 2019 and we have interest from companies which run a third of the UK’s HGVs.”
