New majority shareholder with Heinrich Schwertransporte Dresden

Belgian heavy haulage enterprise Adams acquires know how in the field of transport and assembly of transformers

With effect from 1 June 2010 the heavy haulage enterprise Adams based in Belgium and Luxemburg has acquired a majority holding in the Heinrich Schwertransporte Dresden GmbH. Mr. Ahrndt Schütz, previous managing director of the German company, will remain a shareholder as well.

The result of this transaction will be a company with more than 50 employees, 35 of them working in the field of heavy haulage and assembly. In addition to the two headquarters in St. Vith (B) and Dresden (D) the group operates an office in Weiswampach (L) as well as heavy lift quays at the Belgian sites Westerlo and Charleroi. There are 20 heavy haulage trucks, 100 axle lines, 20 special trailers, self-propelled transporters, train shunting services, step lifters and additional equipment available.

Resulting from the merger Heinrich Schwertransporte Dresden will be able to use the fleet and experience of the Adams group when carrying out heavy transportations in the weight category above 150 tons. The previous companies of the Adams group in turn profit from the experience of the German enterprise in the field of trafo transportation and assembly as well as the spatial vicinity of their location in Dresden to the sites of many producers of heavy items.
