New management at Wiencont Container Terminal GmbH

Mag. Karin Zipperer and Robert Groiss are heads of Hafen Wien subsidiary Wiencont Container Terminal GmbH with immediate effect

 

With immediate effect a new management board pulls the strings of the Hafen Wien subsidiary Wiencont Container Terminal GmbH. After managing director Mag. Walter Edinger has retired from operative business by the end of December 2010, Robert Groiss (46) took over the agendas of the technical director on 1 January 2011. Groiss has been employed by Wiencont since 2002 as a trained forwarder and had previously been in charge of container sales business at the locations in Vienna and Krems.

Commercial management lies in the hands of Mag.a Karin Zipperer, MBA since 15 January. The new member at Wiencont was previously active as managing director of VIE International Beteiligungsmanagement Gesellschaft mbH, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Flughafen Wien AG. The legal expert has comprehensive experience in the fields of developing strategies and new markets.

Wiencont is part of Wien Holding via its parent company. The company operates one of the biggest state-of-the-art container terminals and depots in a European river port at the port of Vienna. The enterprise comprises also the locations in Krems, Graz, Wels and Villach.

In spite of difficult economic conditions Wiencont registered more than 10 per cent growth in container business in the year 2010. At the site in Vienna more than 320,000 TEU were handled.
