New order-management-system for Panalpina’s seafreight division

MyPanalpina+ now offers customers extended possibilities for order management and concurrently increases visibility

With MyPanalpina+, Panalpina launches an order-management-system which is based on the newest version of the customer-oriented LOG-NET system. The customers thereby have extended possibilities for order management, such as improved services regarding freight management or an increased visibility in the supply chains. With the introduction of the new system, Panalpina emphasises their continuous commitment to integrate their own processes into those of their customers as well as putting their focus on end-to-end solutions which go beyond traditional transport services. With MyPanalpina+ the company also lives up to their claim to be in the top ranks in the IT business.

"We have registered a strong increase in our business activities world-wide", says Frank Hercksen, Global Head of Ocean Freight with Panalpina. MyPanalpina+ enables us to increase our customer base and enforces our endeavour to become an even more important part in the supply chain against the background of increasingly complex supply chains. The system simplifies the consolidation of cargo flows as well as the efficient administration or orders, suppliers and carriers."

The Panalpina seafreight division handled about 1.4 milllion TEU in 2012 and generated almost a third of the gross profit of the company. In the first quarter 2013 the company was also able to generate growth rates that were well above market average.
