NYK Group takes holding in logistics subsidiary of Tata Steel

TM International Logistics Ltd. in Kolkata gets NYK as a new prominent Japanese associate

A strategically important change among the shareholders of the TM International Logistics Ltd. – a subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited – has taken place. The Japanese NYK Group has acquired by the NYK Holding (Europe) B.V. 26 per cent of the share capital of the special provider of logistics services for the steel industry.

With this transaction the NYK Group wants to deepen the cooperation with the biggest private steel producer in India in the field of global transport logistics. On this purpose the Tata NYK Shipping joint venture was established, which ships raw materials for the steel production.

TM International Logistics Ltd. is specialising in the development and provision of logistics chains for the steel industry. Established in 2002 by Tata Steel (51 per cent) and IQ Martrade, the enterprise manages major parts of the raw material logistics of Tata Steel including the related processes in the seaports.
