Panalpina and RedPrairie form strategic partnership

RedPrairie’s logistics platform enables Panalpina Group to flexibly use its global supply chain applications

Based on a newly formed strategic partnership the Panalpina Group is using RedPrairie’s supply chain applications from now. With this step the globally acting transport and logistics group can strengthen its offering of value added logistics services (VAS). In line with that automation and efficiency within its logistics product division will be driven.

The background of this alliance is that VAS play an increasingly important role for providing integrated supply chain services. By combining VAS with its air and ocean freight services Panalpina is able to provide complete end-to-end solutions to its customers. "The RedPrairie suite gives us a global standardised platform for logistics and the ability to provide customised, flexible solutions for our customers in key VAS areas such as inbound to manufacturing, production and postponement services as well as distribution and aftermarket services," explained Mike Wilson, Panalpina’s Global Head of Logistics.

Customers in high-tech, automotive and healthcare industries will be among the first to benefit from the company’s latest investment in logistics. Panalpina will utilise modules from across RedPrairie’s product range of inventory management, transportation management and workforce management applications. “These solutions will allow Panalpina to efficiently track and manage inventory and to develop the most effective solutions to move goods through the entire supply chain while reducing cost and maximizing the performance of operations” Panalpina informs in a press release.

For more than 35 years RedPrairie implements supply chain, workforce and all-channel retail solutions for the world’s leading companies. Installed in over 60,000 customer sites across more than 50 countries, the solutions adapt to help ensure visibility and collaboration between manufacturers, distributors, retailers and consumers.
