The international network of Basel based Panalpina Group has been enlarged. A few days ago a new office was inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City. In her speech Monika Ribar, CEO of the globally acting transport and logistics group, emphasised on the importance of the Vietnamese market for the further expansion strategy of the enterprise in Asia.

This important role becomes evident with the growth rates achieved last year. Sea freight volumes increased 14 per cent compared to 2007. The handled air freight tonnage has risen 24 per cent.

Together with the partner Vinatrans, Panalpina Group has been providing transport logistic services from and to Vietnam for around 20 years. Import and export business is handled by 70 employees at the locations in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
